Heading south out of Burnsville is the most fun part. Straight for a bit, but towards the end you’ll see why it’s called “Stairsteps”. Watch for a sudden STOP at the top where it turns to dirt.

197 is 395 at the Erwin, TN end.

Be careful as there are homes on this road. Don’t linger, as the local PD from Burnsville is used to responding to calls from locals.
